Sagar Institute of Pharmaceutical Technology & Research (SIPTec-R) hosted a guest lecture on the "Present Status of Pharmacovigilance in India". The esteemed speaker for the event was Miss Arnica Jain, currently serving as a Patient Safety and Pharmacovigilance Associate at AIIMS and J.P. District Hospital Bhopal, under the Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI), Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

This enlightening session provided the first-year B.Pharm students with valuable insights into the field of pharmacovigilance, adverse drug reactions (ADRs), and the comprehensive framework established by the World Health Organization (WHO). They gained a deeper understanding of the significant impact pharmacovigilance has on the public healthcare system, as well as India's pivotal role in generating a comprehensive database and detecting potential signals.

Overall, the guest lecture served as a platform for students to expand their knowledge and grasp the importance of pharmacovigilance in ensuring patient safety and enhancing the overall quality of healthcare in India.
